“MOEVIR (France)” 12, April Issue 2024-"ILLUSION ANNIHILATION"
“This is a thought-provoking anti war themed garment design from the team of interdisciplinary artist Bai Liu & fashion photographer Siqi Li. As Bai Liu's graduation design at BA Fashion Design at the University of Southampton in the UK, the artist Bai hopes to use this garment design to awaken more attention to the Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) commonly suffered by war survivors.
It is heartbreaking that even after leaving the battlefield, PTSD patients will still be tormented for a lifetime by endless surreal illusions. In many clinical interviews with PTSD patients, they have repeatedly mentioned that they can only feel black and white, trunk and limbs flipping or twisting during hallucinations at the onset of the disease. Therefore, artist Bai decided to present the cruel illusions in the minds of PTSD patients in the form of garment design” (MOEVIR, 2024).
This design is Bai Liu's BA Fashion Design Graduation Design arranged by Winchester School of Art in June 2023. In addition, the work has been included and published in
the 12, April Issue 2024 of MOEVIR (France).
